Did someone say Happy Hour?! Well, we love a good Happy Hour! Luckily for us there are some awesome happy hour spots to try in and around Portland, Maine! We’ve rounded up our latest favorites below:
Via Vecchia (Old Port - Portland, Maine)

Easily dubbed the most beautiful building in Portland’s Old Port with its ivy covered brick walls along the cobblestone street, the heart of this kitchen definitely matches the note-worthy exterior. Re-imagined in 2020, Via Vecchia specializes in Italian inspired small plates in a warm and luxurious atmosphere (think velvet booths, large wrap around bar and opulent decor). During the summer months, the outdoor patio is not to be missed either - the perfect spot for sipping, relaxing and indulging!
Via Vecchia’s Happy Hour is INCREDIBLE (better known as Aperitivo)! From 4-6pm Tuesday-Friday, enjoy a ~complimentary~ tasting plate alongside additional food and drink specials including $6 red/white/rose house wine pours, $8 spritz of the day and $6-$8 small plates such as crudite, eggplant fries and farro salad.

EVO (Old Port - Portland, Maine)

Maine meets Mediterranean at this Old Port hot spot. We love grabbing a seat at the bar and enjoying the show from the open kitchen. The shareable dips and bluefin tuna are standouts on the menu for us. We also love visiting the Evo X food truck at Fore Points Marina in the summertime. Check out EVO for delicious tasting menus, wines and fun outdoor dining.
EVO’s Happy Hour runs Tuesdays through Fridays from 4:30 PM – 6 PM featuring $7 wines, $5 beers, $9 select cocktails, $6 plates, and other rotating specials including their famous chick pea fries!
The chickpea fries with harissa yogurt are a true standout.
Broken Arrow (Old Port - Portland, Maine)

This Congress St. gem is the perfect spot for sipping at the bar. Their romantic and moody space has quickly become a favorite for us for small bites and cocktails. The menu features local and seasonal flavors and the service is warm and friendly at this neighborhood restaurant and bar. We can’t wait to try their tasting menu next!
Happy Hour runs EVERYDAY from from 4-6pm with $6 daily cocktail and bubbles options, $5 rotating daily bar snacks including the whipped ricotta pictured below! Broken Arrow also celebrated Industry Tuesdays for half off food for fellow restaurant and bar folk.

Dunstan Tab and Table (Scarborough, Maine)

We love the fun atmosphere at Dunstan Tap and Table! This is the kind of spot you can meet up with friends, bring the kids or have a date night. The menu has something for everyone! Their awesome tented back deck complete with an Adirondack chair surrounded fire pit is the perfect spot to hang out with a beverage in hand.
Dunstan Tap and Table’s Happy Hour runs Wednesday - Friday from 3-5pm. Most noteworthy on the happy hour menu in our book are the $5 Allagash White draft pours, $5 chicken wings (highly recommend going with the buffalo over blue cheese) and $5 poutine. Other specials include pizza, tacos and $5 mixed well drinks. You can make reservations ahead of time online to secure your Happy Hour seat!

Pedro’s (Kennebunk, Maine)

Pedro’s is our favorite place to celebrate Taco Tuesday! We love this fun and lively Mexican restaurant’s atmosphere. They are located just steps from Kennebunkport’s Dock Square and serve up delicious tacos, burritos and margaritas!
Now let’s talk Happy Hour! EVERY DAY from 3-5pm, enjoy $6 classic margaritas (yummy!) in addition to rotating beer and food specials! In addition to Happy Hour, make sure to check out their Taco Tuesday special for $3 tacos all day long!
Pro tip -celebrate Taco Tuesday from 3-5pm to enjoy both $3 tacos and Happy Hour sips.
